La Liga giants handed massive transfer boost by Verratti's agent

The Italian midfielder has been linked with a move away from PSG for the past two summers. Will he end up leaving Les Parisiens?

At long last, Marco Verratti seems to be heading out of Paris Saint Germain, in what could spark a transfer saga between La Liga's top clubs.

Donato Di Campli, who works as Verratti's agent, spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport earlier today, and hinted that his client could leave PSG this summer, even with a contract that ends until 2021. His words will not be taken lightly by Real Madrid and Barcelona, who have continuously shown interest in luring the player away to the Spanish top flight.

"It's a complicated situation. He's under contract until the 2020-2021 season, and he wants to add silverware to his trophy case. Unfortunately, PSG can't do that right now. Now's the time for him to ponder if he wants to earn lots of money and win titles, or if he wants to earn a lot of money without more silverware," Di Campli stated.

Verratti was pursued by Real Madrid during Carlo Ancelotti's era, and their interest in signing the player has re-emerged under Zinedine Zidane. However, there will be stiff competition to sign the midfielder, as he's seen by many in the Spanish press as Andrés Iniesta's successor at Barcelona, an idea that Blaugrana execs like.
Even if his client hasn't made up his mind about his future, Di Campli seems to know his future contract will earn him the right amount of money and respect.
"Wherever he goes, he will earn a nice amount of money, and if he decides to leave, he'll only leave PSG to join a top-caliber club," the agent concluded.
